That One Thread (Bonus For Today:-)
It’s bright red and bugging the hell out of me.
Pull, pull, pull…damn, where does this thing end??!!
Pull…hmm..wow.
Pull.
Wow, now this entire arm is gone.
Tug, yank…
Uhhh…and it’s a third of the body.
10 minutes later.
There’s just a pile of balled up thread now.
I’d have never thought.
But, it makes sense.
The entire garment was tied to that one intolerable string.
That’s our belief system and entire worldview.
If we’ll only go there.
Problem is we typically break out our tiny scissors and snap it off down to the surface.
Some garmentary triage.
Or, worse, we just ignore it.
We let it fuzz up and ball up.
It gets totally funky and other threads start to become frayed too.
A life can unravel by our choosing to pull the ends to their logical extent.
Or, it can do it on its own in a much more chaotic and unpredictable way.
Most folks spend their existence with the garment of their lives in nice, neat, highly protected glass enclosures.
Like a piece on display at some museum.
Never testing the validity of their beliefs.
Never putting the dogma of the tribe through fire.
Never growing or changing or even trying to approach their potential.
Tug.
