Is There More?

I’ve talked a LOT about the basic drive of humans.
To preserve energy to live long enough to have offspring.
Passing on our genetic code is it.

Well…at least as far as we see and currently know.

Live everything else living.
Viruses, which aren’t living, even exist to do this.
But maybe there is more.

The path to enlightenment, with this as with any other mystery,y is through questions.
Critical thinking, philosophy, and science are our toolsets.

For the sake of this little diddy of a writing, I’m gonna try to rationalize it out.
If there is something else that’s next beyond that, I’d say it’s something akin to legacy.
I mean one that exceeds our instinctive need to propagate our genetic code.
One that’s tied to our consciousness.
That transcends this universe and this reality.
Where would something like this even come from, though?
Again, I’m gonna interject my opinion.
I believe we get it from how we are connected to the broader realities and universes.
Perhaps it was even wired into us by a higher power or entity, or just is, always has been, and always will be.
I don’t know about the god of religions.
The stories and the entities are way too contradictory and flawed.
I do think that religions and their mythologies point to what’s beyond the veil.
Even in all of their jacked-upedness.
