_______ Is The New Black
This past week, I was told that a guy who taught my Sunday school class when I was a kid died of a heart attack.
He was the definition of a bully.
I never think of this guy.
But when I was told about his passing, it brought up some feelings from childhood.
About how completely nasty he was.
Just a mean, jack-ass, jerk-of-a-person.
His father-in-law, the pastor of the church I went to as a kid, and his mother-in-law were trash, too.
Siphoning off a large income from a congregation of around 100.
Grifters and shitty people.
Remembering him made me think about when someone called me a “bully” not too long ago.
While I’m very straightforward and tell it like it is, I’m far away from a “bully”.
Funny how people equate being a truth-teller to being a jerk.
That’s how our world is, though.
Full of people looking for reasons to be offended and victimized.
There are always social-victim fads being perpetuated throughout society.
For a long time, it was being bullied.
Over the years, it’s been racism, #metoo, homophobia, transphobia…
The current one is anti-semitism.
It’s the pet rock of virtue signaling.
Like BLM and all forms of COVID-era b.s. It’ll go away as its usefulness fades.
Seems like victimization is what the cool kids do these days.
In reality, it’s the way of adult sheep.
The key is not to fall into this trap.
